The use of the CT scanner allows us a more thorough diagnosis of conditions by allowing us to see everything in three dimensions as compared to a two dimensional radiograph (x-ray). This technology is often useful in implant cases to achieve proper bone integration and support of the implant. It also allows us the ability to identify sensitive structures such as nerves and blood vessels and it provides us with better information to avoid these structures during surgical procedures.
